April Fool's Day Fun

One thing I love about being a mom, is that Olivia is SO INTO HOLIDAYS!! She loves every single holiday and wants to do something to celebrate. So on Tuesday night, she was still trying to think of an April Fool's trick to play on her dad--or SOMEone! After she went to bed, Kent and I switched all the cereal and put the Kix in the Rice Krispies box, the rice krispies in the Cheerios box, and the cheerios in the Kix box. So on April Fool's morning, when she wanted Kix and the cheerios came out of the box, the joke was on her!! She thought it was SO FUNNY!! She just laughed and laughed. She got all the boxes of cereal out of the pantry to figure how how they were switched. When she realized we had switched all three, that made it even funnier to her.

Well, Isaac surely wondered how on earth a cheerio could come out of a Kix box, so he was completely stumped! That made all of us laugh. Then, Isaac went to his cupboard to get out his bowl for some cereal and to his surprise, his cars, helicopter, bus, fire engine, etc. were in the cupboard instead of dishes. He thought that was completely HILARIOUS!! What a blast! We all laughed our heads off!

So I put a Halloween napkin in Olivia's lunch and called it good. But on the way to school, Olivia thought it would be really fun to make Valentine's Day cookies to give to the grandmas and begged me to make the dough while she was at school. So I did. How could I refuse that idea? When she and her friend Sarah came home from school, we rolled out the cookies. We made Halloween cats, Easter bunnies and eggs, 4th of July stars, Christmas trees, and Valentine hearts. Why not represent lots of holidays? Then after they came back from their sewing class, they frosted them. What a fun treat for the girls, and Olivia's grandmas!! It was the best April Fool's Day ever!!
